There are many different varieties of peppercorns with varying flavors. Black Pepper comes from unripe green berries that are left to ferment for several days before drying. Once the pepper corns are dried they become flavorful, pungent, and aromatic. Coarse Black Pepper is the seed of the berries, which are ground to a consistency bigger then Powdered Pepper, but smaller then Cracked Pepper. The medium pieces of the grind, called “Coarse Pepper” are then cleaned and prepared for packaging.
